Meet with your school counselor to ensure that everything is on track. |

If you applied for early decision and have been accepted, you should follow instructions for admitted students. If not, you should submit your application to other colleges. |

All federal financial aid forms should be filed this month. Applications for available state financial aid should be completed. Talk to your guidance counselor about special forms your state might need. |

Encourage your parents to complete their income tax forms ASAP, as these forms will be necessary when requesting financial aid. |

Contact your colleges to confirm that all application materials (transcripts, recommendations, financial aid forms) have been received. |

February |
If you completed FAFSA, you should receive your SAR (Student Aid Report) within four weeks of completing the form. You should review your SAR, correct any incorrect items, and return to FAFSA processor. If you have not received your SAR and more than four weeks have passed, you should contact the Federal Student Aid Information Center. |

At this time, you should complete scholarship applications. |

March and April |
Review acceptances and compare financial aid packages. |

May |
By May 1st, you should make your decision about which college you will attend. Send in your acceptance of the school's offer and any other necessary paperwork. |
|
Notify any other colleges that accepted you that you have selected another university. |
|
If your first choice college placed you on a waiting list, you should inform the school that you are still very interested in attending the school. |
|
|
June |
Forward final transcripts to the colleges of students' choice. Let schools know of any additional financial aid you will receive. |
|
Contact your school and determine when fees are due for tuition, room and board, meals, etc. |
