For the past three years, William Penn University has been recognized by the John Templeton Foundation for its character-building programs in
the area of leadership development. The Leadership Core, Penn's general education requirement, is designed to provide students with a solid
foundation in leadership and responsible citizenship. Penn is one of only 40 colleges in the nation cited for exemplary programming in leadership.
William Penn is on a 40-acre campus located in Oskaloosa, a safe and peaceful historic town in south-central Iowa. Iowa has beautiful rolling
hills, farms, clean lakes, and rivers. Iowa's capital city, Des Moines, is a one-hour drive from Oskaloosa and is served by several major airlines.
The university was founded by Quaker pioneers in 1873 to provide a quality education to all interested men and women regardless of race, creed,
or socioeconomic status. The values of integrity, simplicity, compassion, ethical practice, acceptance, tolerance, and service have provided the
framework for quality education for over 129 years.
More than 1,400 students from 43 states and ten countries attend William Penn University on the Oskaloosa, Des Moines, and Ames campuses. Students
are encouraged to take advantage of a great variety of clubs and organizations, including cultural organizations, performing arts groups,
recreational clubs, religious groups, student government, social organizations, fraternities and sororities, professional associations, and special
interest groups.
Areas of Study
The university encompasses two colleges-the College of Business & Management Science and the College of Arts, Sciences, & Professional Studies.
Graduates are awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in any of 28 majors, including accounting, applied computer science, biology, business management,
communication studies, elementary education, history/government, industrial technology, marketing, mechanical engineering, physical education,

The university is fully accredited, and offers a two-semester academic year, along with three summer terms. The academic program
is based on four foundational concepts: leadership, ethical practice, lifelong learning, and commitment to service.
Admissions and Financial Aid
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are reviewed as soon as they are completed. Minimum requirements include high school graduation
with a suggested 2.5 GPA and a minimum ACT score of 18 or 860 SAT. Transfer students are required to have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.

Athletics
William Penn has a strong tradition of excellence in athletics, with 14 teams competing in the NAIA. Men compete in baseball, basketball,
cross-country, football, golf, soccer, track, and wrestling. Women compete in basketball, cross-country, soccer, softball, track, and volleyball.
