Location
Sheridan, located in Canada's province of Ontario, takes pride in offering its diverse programs at two first-rate campuses. The Trafalgar Road Campus is located in the beautiful lakeside town of Oakville, and the Davis Campus in the dynamic, multicultural city of Brampton. Both Brampton and Oakville are part of a group of municipalities surrounding the world-class city of Toronto (population 4.7 million). The centre of Canada's financial industry, Toronto is one of the cleanest, safest, and most sophisticated urban centres in the world.
History
Over the past 35 years, Sheridan has grown from a small, locally-based college of 400 students to one of the largest in Ontario, earning a reputation for excellence that is international in scope. Class sizes are small, providing excellent opportunities for individual attention and learning.
Campus Life
Each campus has its own Student Union, dedicated to promote quality of student life through social events and student oriented services. Their goal is to ensure that you, the student, has a memorable college experience while having your interests and concerns voiced.
Athletics
Both Sheridan campuses have gymnasium complexes that provide a range of recreational activities and varsity and intramural team sports. Sheridan's Athletic and Recreation Centres feature squash and racquetball courts, gyms with fully-equipped cardio and weight rooms, lockers, and shower facilities. Memberships for full-time students are included in student fees.
Academics/Programs Offered
Sheridan occupies a unique place in the spectrum of postsecondary education, one characterized by distinctive programs taught by dedicated faculty in an invigorating, creative environment. With more than 35,000 applications for about 5,000 first-year placements and an overall graduate employment rate of 93 percent, Sheridan is one of Canada's most successful postsecondary educational institutions. Sheridan delivers quality programming to 12,000 full-time students from over 44 countries through five academic schools:
- Animation, Arts, and Design
- Business
- Community and Liberal Studies
- Computing and Information Management
- Science and Technology
Sheridan's reputation for excellence has been earned through a track record of creating high-quality programs that anticipate new trends and opportunities in Canadian and international business and industry.
Admission Guidelines:
Sheridan recognizes academic credentials from secondary schools (high schools) and postsecondary institutions from around the world. Evaluations of transcripts are performed by the international services branch of the Ontario College Application Service and by International Services. Acceptance of credentials is based on Sheridan's admission policies.
In general, an applicant is required to hold a secondary school graduation diploma which leads to postsecondary education in the country where it was obtained and which is considered by Ontario's colleges to be equivalent (for admission purposes) to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Applicants must also have completed the required subjects with an average acceptable to Sheridan. |
