Whether you've decided where you're going to college or you're still shopping around, be sure to apply for scholarships to help pay your way. The following scholarships are available for minority students:
Alphonso Deal Scholarship Award National Black Police Association NBPA Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who is accepted into a college or university and is interested in studying and working in the field of law enforcement, or other related areas, for the betterment of the criminal justice system.
American Geological Society AGI Minority Participation Program

AGI awards scholarships ranging from $250 to $1,000 per year to students currently enrolled in college geoscience programs.
American Institute of Architects/American Architectural Foundation Minority/Disadvantaged Scholarship

Twenty scholarships per year, ranging from $500 to $2,500, are available to minority/disadvantaged high school seniors and college freshmen who plan to study architecture at an NAAB-accredited program.
American Meteorological Society Industry Minority Scholarships

AMS will award funding-a two-year scholarship of $3,000 per year-to minority students who have been traditionally underrepresented in the sciences, especially Hispanic, Native American, and African American students.
American Physical Society Corporate Sponsored Scholarship for Minority Undergraduate Students Who Major in Physics

African American, Hispanic American, and Native American high school seniors who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and who plan to major in physics are eligible to apply.
Black Women in Sisterhood for Action, Inc. Scholarship Assistance Program

The scholarship is also accompanied by personal support and services from BISA staff. Application form can be found on the Web site, and applications are due in April.
Coca-Cola Scholars Program

Fifty national finalists are awarded $20,000, and 200 regional finalists are awarded $4,000. Application forms are available on the Web site.

Graduating high school seniors planning to attend an accredited institution of higher learning or a full-time undergraduate, graduate or doctoral students with a minimum 2.5/4.0 GPA are eligible to apply for scholarships.

Development Fund for Black Students in Science and Technology

Students must intend to enroll at predominately black colleges or universities and major in a technical field. Awards are up to $2,000 a year and are renewable for up to four years.

The National Organization for Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers offers this scholarship to exceptional African-American high school students who are accepted by an accredited four-year institution and plan to study chemistry or chemical engineering, with the goal of obtaining a B.S. degree in an ACS-certified professional program.
