Tips for Using CollegeView's College Search

Once you're in the college search portion of www.collegeview.com, the site will prompt you to choose a category to search by. You can choose from the following search criteria: areas of study, location, student body size, city size, public/private, school type, religious affiliation, student body type, ethnicity, athletics, special services, and disabilities. The most popular search choices are areas of study and location.

To search for a college or university by areas of study, you can select from the categories listed in the "Areas of Study" screen. Once you have selected a category, you will see specific majors listed in the "Majors" box. You can then add to or delete from their "Selected Majors" list. You can also select "All" to move all of the majors in a category to the "Selected Majors" list. Once all the areas of study are chosen, select "Search Now" to view your search results, or select a new tab to continue your search.

To search by location, choose the states, provinces, and territories where you would like to consider attending college. There is no limit to the number of states you can choose.

If you would like to choose according to student body size, indicate a preference for the size of the school from the choices listed below. You can choose as many criteria as you like in this category. (Like all of our search categories, however, it is not necessary to choose any.)
  • 500 or Fewer
  • 501-2,500

If a school's religious affiliation is not important to you, do not choose any, and CollegeView will return schools regardless of religious affiliation.
